    The Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation jointly established the Global MediXchange for Combating COVID-19 (GMCC) programme, with the support of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence and Alibaba Health, to help combat the global outbreak of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.
    This programme was established to facilitate online communication and collaboration across borders, as well as provide frontline medical teams around the world with the necessary communication channels to share practical experience about fighting the pandemic.
    This centre offers overseas Chinese compatriots with COVID-19 prevention and treatment consultation from frontline doctors and supports medical scientific research institutions with AI, big data, and cloud computing capabilities. This Global MediXchange for Combating COVID-19 (GMCC) is composed of four centres: Resources Sharing Center, which shares authoritative anti-epidemic information; International Medical Expert Communication Center, which is dedicated for medical staffs to exchange real-time clinical experience of the latest epidemic prevention and control; COVID-19 Chinese Consultation Center, which provides overseas Chinese compatriots with real-time health consultation and online Q&A; and Fighting COVID-19 Technology Center, which shows cutting-edge anti-epidemic technologies.

    The Indian arm of AngelList — US-based online platform for startups, angel investors and job seekers looking to work at or with a startup — has committed to invest INR 50 Lakh into the startups that are working on possible solutions for Covid-19 or coronavirus.

    4) LifeArc
    6th April 2020
    LifeArc has made available an initial £10M for the identification of therapeutics that can be rapidly deployed to treat COVID-19. The aim is to run trials in patients during the current epidemic. It is anticipated that applications will be for funding to repurpose one or more drugs that are generic, already licensed, or are in late-stage development for another indication.

    7) DoIT & e-Gov, Government of Jharkhand

    COVIDTHON 2020 is an online hackathon in public interest with special focus on containment of Coronavirus (COVID-19) with intent to develop following 3 interlinked components:

    A quarantine management app (QMA) for citizens at risk identified by the administration, An effort management app/web portal for administration (state, district, sub-district and medical officer levels) and A general citizen app for risk assessment, reporting of cases and crowdsourcing of data.

    Omidyar Network India today announced a call for proposals for rapid response funding to tackle the challenges posed by the Covid-19 situation and the consequent socio-economic impact. We are committing Rs. 7.5 crore ($1 million) to this initiative.

The entries in the database may not be exhaustive and new research will be added regularly.
